Shots fired is the last thing you’d expect to hear in your office, your child’s school or at any public place. While the possibility of being involved in an active shooter incident may be remote, the consequences can be catastrophic. That’s why it makes good sense to spend some time now thinking and preparing for it.

The Cobb County Police Department is co-hosting a series of active shooter seminars beginning next week. Also hosting the events are the Cobb County School District Police and the Cobb County District Attorney’s Office.

The Cobb School System will have an active shooter presentation at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 31 at Lassiter’s Concert Hall, 2601 Shallowford Road in Marietta / East Cobb. Each session is expected to last approximately two hours and will cover general “active shooter” topics to include what to expect, best practices, what happens when law enforcement arrives and weapons carry license laws.

If you are unavailable to attend the March 31st session, click here to see other sessions the School System will be holding throughout the county.
