Trash… It is more than just unsightly! Dumped on roadways, littered, or disposed of improperly- it makes living conditions close to impossible for wild life. Not to mention, our tax dollars are going to the clean-up of our highways and residential roads. So we can all save money by Keeping Cobb Beautiful!
You might ask, “What can I do?” Well you or your club, civic group, or business can Keep Cobb Beautiful by joining the Adopt-A-Mile program. As part of this program, you agree to periodically remove garbage from a mile-long stretch of a road, keeping this area well-maintained.
By joining this program, you agree to:
- Conduct 4 clean-ups within a 1 year period
- Attend safety training before initial cleanup
- Submit releases of liability, (parental consent forms), roster, and other various paperwork
- Must be 13 or older
Training is also required, because your safety is in everyone’s best interest.
In return, Cobb DOT provides cleanup supplies, signs, and trash bag removal. You will also receive bragging rights; after your cleanup, the DOT will post signs at either end of “your” mile. For more information, call (770)528-1135.
