Report underage drinking parties

Teen drinking

Here are a few facts to consider next time you see an underage person drinking.

-In traffic crashes, the leading single cause of death for 15-24 year olds, alcohol is a contributing factor. In fact, alcohol is also a contributing factor in many of the other leading causes of death for young people; accidental injuries, homicide, and suicide; it is a contributing factor in incidents of violence, crime, risky sexual behavior, and other health and safety concerns as well.

-Recently, according to a University of Miami study, underage drinking has been linked to a boost in criminal activity in adulthood.

-Parents cannot give alcohol or knowingly allow the use of alcohol by minors other than their own child in their home or allow such other minors possessing and/or using alcohol to remain in their home or on their property. Both criminal and civil action, including fines and confinement, are possible under the law.

On April 12th, 2012 at approximately 8:25 AM, a young teenage female was walking to the bus stop on Weatherstone Parkway near Old Farm Road (Vicinity of Old Sewell and Lower Roswell Road) when she observed a suspicious vehicle driving very slowly toward her.

The vehicle slowed down and continued to follow her until a passing motorist observed what was happening and approached to offer assistance. At that point the suspicious vehicle sped away.
