The Insurance Services Office awarded Cobb County Fire and Emergency Services (CCFES) with its Class 1 rating, the highest rating possible. This is a first for CCFES in its 45-year service history. Cobb County is now one of only 13 fire protection areas in Georgia to have a Class 1 rating. Ratings under the ISO system range from 1, which marks superior fire protection, to 10, which indicates almost no fire protection.

Many insurance companies use ISO as a factor to access fire protection ratings and to determine homeowner and business fire insurance premiums. ISO ratings are based not only on the fire departments capability but also the county’s water delivery system, the 911 system, and the county’s effort in risk reduction. Risk reduction includes elements such as fire prevention, public safety education and fire investigations. A big thank you to all the men and women of Cobb County Fire and Emergency Services for making this possible!
