Each year an estimated 5 million (or 1 in 10) older Americans are victims of elder abuse, neglect or exploitation. Experts believe that for every case of elder abuse or neglect reported, as many as 23.5 cases go unreported. Celebrating Elder Abuse Day brings a better understanding of all forms of elder abuse and elder services.

The Cobb Elder Abuse Task Force is a multi-jurisdictional organization that addresses financial, physical, emotional, sexual and institutional abuse of seniors. In addition, it provides elder abuse training to our community, health care and elder service providers.

The task force was presented with a proclamation by the Board of Commissioners designating June 15, 2016 as Elder Abuse Awareness Day in Cobb County. For additional information about the Cobb Elder Abuse Task Force, please visit www.ceatf.org.
