Community leaders will have plenty to talk about after the Cobb County Emergency Management Agency free natural disaster workshop.

Cobb EMA staff will host a natural disaster workshop for community leaders Tuesday, July 12, from 8 a.m. to noon. Following the course, several community leaders will stay after to talk to media about the different skills and modules they learned.

In attendance will be State Disaster Coordinator Sal Gullo from the Knights of Columbus Disaster Responders, Program Director Stacy Brungardt for the Collective at Cumberland of Cumberland Community Church and Senior Pastor Reginald Godfrey from Transform Life in Christ Ministries.

Community leaders will learn the necessary plans and tools needed to prepare for natural disasters. In addition, the course will also teach hazard review, community preparedness and mitigation, value of partnerships and preparation of an emergency operations plan.

Cobb County Emergency Management Agency is located at 140 North Marietta Parkway, Marietta.
