May is Older Americans Month, a time to celebrate the perennial contributions of older adults to the nation. This year’s theme is “Blaze a Trail”. Blaze your own trail through North America by discovering national parks. Enjoy a documentary movie on national parks and have fun playing National Parks Trivia. A delicious lunch will be catered through Café 33.

Healthy Habits

Science is able to provide insights into how to make lifestyle choices that may help keep the brain and body healthy as you age. Learn about research in the areas of nutrition, exercise, cognitive activity and social engagement. Use hands-on tools to help incorporate these recommendations into a plan for healthy aging. Luncheon & Book Signing with Richard Croker

Join for a delicious meal catered by West Cobb Diner and hear an interesting story about the book “Y’all” Is Always Plural! Presented by author Richard Croker. Learn all about customs, traditions and language of the South (for folks who are not from around heah). Books will be available to purchase and signing.

Zuckerman Museum of Art – A View Beyond the Trees

The Zuckerman Museum of Art is pleased to present an in-depth, behind the scenes preview of their upcoming exhibition, A View Beyond the Trees. Learn more about their exhibit and how it will offer a variety of historic and contemporary artistic approaches to landscape and geography. The exhibition will also include an educational presentation illustrating the life of a painting from concept to conservation. Contemporary artists featured include: Joe Hamilton, Dawn Holder, and Stacy Lynn Waddell. The work of these artists will be shown alongside a group of freshly conserved 19th century America landscape paintings from the ZMA collection, researched and curated by Kennesaw State University faculty Dr. Daniel E. Sachs.
