We are only a few days into 2016, and for many, 2015 ended with a simple yet seemingly difficult goal to meet- Get In Shape.

It’s not from a lack of good intentions. We adjust our diet and vow to exercise more, and for many, that means joining (or re-joining) a gym. But for some, the gym experience leaves us intimidated and frustrated so the goals we set in January often dissipate by spring.

But what if this time, it was different? Welcome to Fitness 1440 in Marietta/East Cobb! Fitness 1440 is a 24/7 fitness center that offers the amenities that are often found in larger and more expensive centers. There is a cardio area with televisions, free weights, weight resistance machines, group classes, indoor pool and spa and a pro shop. There is also a kids’ club at no additional charge. And all of this for as little as $19 month.

Fun. Innovative. Results.

Business partners Jason Alles and Tom Milenkevich wanted a fitness club that was affordable to members while offering a level of service and results they found to be lacking elsewhere. “A typical gym experience goes like this: a new member comes in and signs up. The member may receive initial and complimentary personal training and encouraged to purchase a personal training package. A large majority of the new members won’t purchase a package, and then the member is left to figure it out. The member won’t get the results he or she is seeking and will stop coming or discontinue the membership. We are different,” said Jason.

“We offer our members fun, innovation and most importantly results,” said Jason. “Everyone has different fitness goals, and we partner with our members to get and keep the desired results through exercise, nutrition and most importantly, follow up,” he continued.

Fitness 1440 has coined the phrase “Tru Results” to describe the program developed for every member. During the first week, a new member will receive a complete physiological evaluation, and realistic goals will be discussed and set. Any successful fitness program includes nutrition and exercise, which is why Fitness 1440 uses a certified nutritionist to develop healthy eating plans that coincide with exercise to achieve optimum results. From there, the member will meet with a fitness professional and shown how to use all the equipment.

Once the initial evaluation and instruction is complete, the member will begin his/her fitness and nutrition plan. Going forward, a fitness professional will meet with the member monthly to “check in.” Progress will be recorded and any needed adjustments in either the exercise or nutrition plan will be done. Members see consistent results and are never left to “figure it out,” emphasized Jason.

Variety is Key

Combined, Tom and Jason have almost 50 years of experience in the fitness industry. They know that along with affordability and on-going support, there has to be variety to keep members satisfied and engaged.

Group classes offer a great alternative to the machines. Classes are available for all fitness levels and interests including several for seniors. The pool offers another opportunity to add variety to your workout.

For those who don’t have a lot of time, Fitness 1440 has introduced “Target 24.” Members can achieve a complete workout out encompassing cardio and weight resistance training in as little as 24 minutes.

To keep things interesting, Fitness 1440 introduces a new class or service every 90 days. Jason refers to this as P.E.C.S.- Program, Exercise, Classes, Service. “We will always work to reinvent ourselves so our members stay motivated and interested in working out,” said Jason.

Members receive a monthly newsletter, which will let them know of any changes/additions to the gym or programs.

There are plenty of success stories at Fitness 1440, but none as dramatic as Assistant Manager Amanda Cowherd who lost 150 pounds by following the Tru Results plans. “Other gyms took my money. Fitness 1440 took the time and I FINALLY got results!” she said.
