Sandy Springs Lantern Parade. See the inaugural Sandy Springs Lantern Parade! Don’t miss the 25-foot  albino alligator lantern, created by artist Chantelle Rytter, that will be floating down the Chattahoochee river. The parade will begin at North Springs United Methodist Church and process to Morgan Falls Overlook Park. After the parade, a shuttle will run back to the starting point.

Monday, June 20 (First Day of Summer!)

Go to the beach! Visit Cauble Park and relax on Acworth Beach! The beach area of the park features a white sand beach as well as a roped off area for swimming. There is no lifeguard on duty and there is no charge for swimming. The surrounding park offers boating, fishing, public restrooms, rental facilities, a volleyball net, playgrounds, picnic areas, and more.

Join the Green Gym! Exercise goes green! Participate in fun, hands-on craft activities to learn how to make upcycled exercise equipment out of recycled materials and common household items. Registration strongly encouraged. Bring ten dry, clean, recycled plastic bags for each person participating. Ages 6-12.

Sgt. Maddox and His K9 Partner. A K9 handler with his K9 partner will discuss and demonstrate how the K9 police department serves the county, how the dogs are trained, and where they come from. He will also do a training session with hit K9 partner. Come see this hard-working trainer and his dog!

ASO’s Performance in the Park! Come out to Piedmont Park and enjoy a concert on Oak Hill, in the Southwest corner of the park. The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra will be performing pieces that range from Rossini’s Overture to The Barber of Seville to James Brown’s I Feel Good. Park at the Botanical Gardens, and feel free to bring your own food and drinks.
