See An Artillery Demonstration! Come on down to Kennesaw Mountain and learn about the weapons used during the Civil War. There will also be a live demonstration of the firing of artillery and the firing of a canon. The demonstration will be held in the Visitor Center front field.

Come Play at Abernathy’s Art Park! Come out and enjoy the playable art at the Playable Art Park. There are six art installations, all for kids to play on and crawl over. One is a swing set; the rest are primarily for climbing, sliding, and having fun.

Take A Garden Tour! Begin your day with a tour of the historic gardens at Barrington Hall. The tour is led by staff horticulturist Janet Rigsby and begins at the main house back porch. Reservations are not necessary but are appreciated. Please call 770-640-3855 to make a reservation.

Visit the Waffle House Museum! The Waffle House Museum is the site of the very first Waffle House restaurant, which opened in 1955. Step back in time when you walk into the restaurant, which has been restored to its original appearance and features Waffle House memorabilia from the past 60 years. Take a Walk! Come explore the Sweet Auburn Historic District, home of the Civil Rights Movement. Known as the birthplace of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Sweet Auburn offers engaging and interesting sites for the family. Enjoy an American Celebration Concert! See the Johnson Ferry Choir and Orchestra with an ice cream social following the performance. Bring a carton of your favorite ice cream to the Fellowship Hall prior to the concert (not required) and return afterwards to enjoy!
