Cobb County Animal Control (CCAC) will be hosting its semi-annual FURever Fest under the big tents on Saturday, May 14 from 10am to 4pm at the animal shelter. This fun, free, family event will feature vendors with animal-related businesses, services, and organizations that provide education and information on responsible pet ownership and well as having products for sale that can be used for your pets to enhance the experience of adopting a pet and being a pet parent. A K-9 officer and the handler will demonstrate the skills these dogs provide as a member of the police force. A DJ and hot dog vendor will round out the event.
Come on out and support your shelter. Consider the Cobb County animal shelter first when thinking of a new pet. For those interested in adopting, there are special adoption rates available during the event, and each family that adopts will receive a pet goodie bag. And, as a special incentive, if you adopt during the event, you will be entered in a drawing for a special gift. You can also help make a difference for less fortunate dogs and cats in Cobb by bringing a dog or cat food donation (unopened and unexpired) that will help a local pet food pantry provide temporary food assistance to those in need in our county.
The FURever Fest is held in the spring and in the fall as part of CCAC’s continuing efforts through public awareness and to work closely with the community to find more fur-ever homes for the homeless and abandoned animals that come into the shelter. The shelter is located at 1060 Al Bishop Drive, Marietta, just a half-mile from Jim R. Miller Park.
