GA Agriculture Commissioner Gary Black to Speak at Cobb GOP Breakfast on September 8

This month’s Cobb GOP Breakfast will take place on Saturday, September 8th, from 8 to 9:30 am at the Cobb GOP headquarters, 799 Roswell Street, Marietta.
The guest speaker will be GA Agriculture Commissioner Gary Black. Commissioner Gary W. Black is the sixteenth Georgian to hold the office of Commissioner of Agriculture since the department’s inception in 1874. He began his career with the Georgia Farm Bureau leading the young farmer leadership development program. He served 21 years as president of the Georgia Agribusiness Council, a chamber-like organization representing all facets of Georgia’s food and fiber industry. During his career, Black led the development of AgriTrust of Georgia, a renowned workers’ compensation insurance program for farmers and agricultural businesses. He has championed sound policies throughout Georgia ranging from private property rights to food safety, and from lower taxes to science-based environmental stewardship.
Doors open at 7:45 am. The breakfast buffet opens at 8, and the program begins at 8:30. Breakfast is $10 and includes scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, grits, biscuits, gravy, juice, and coffee. Cash and checks are accepted. Coffee only is $2.
