Kick off your boots, shed the puffy coat, and spring into springtime with confidence that you are taking the best care of your skin by scheduling an appointment with Dr. Corinne Erickson, the newest member of Perimeter Dermatology’s team. Dr. Erickson explains, “When the weather warms up and people shed their winter layers, they are often surprised by what they find on their skin. The dry colder climate and exposure to indoor heat dehydrates skin to a scaly state. New growths appear that may not be desirable on bare legs and arms, or that may be of concern for skin cancer. This is the perfect time to check in with a dermatologist to make sure the skin you are about to reveal is as healthy and beautiful as possible.”

Dr. Erickson recommends a skin cancer exam as an excellent way to achieve this peace of mind. “During a skin cancer exam, I evaluate the patient from head to toe, looking for abnormal appearing moles, or other lesions of concern for skin cancer. I am also assessing the general skin health of the patient and addressing more specific issues that may need treatment such as acne and eczema. When a patient leaves my office, I want her to feel that her questions have been answered, concerns addressed, and any worrisome growths appropriately evaluated.”

In addition to her expertise in general and surgical dermatology, Dr. Erickson enjoys customizing anti-aging strategies for her patients. “Some patients are happy with the gradual improvement that comes from high quality skin care products, others really benefit from procedures such as Botox, fillers, and lasers. I treat each patient as an individual and carefully craft an anti-aging plan to meet her needs, her wants, and her budget. I love working side by side with the aestheticians at Perimeter Dermatology to maximize the patients’ results.”

Dr. Erickson is also committed to taking excellent dermatologic care of pediatric patients and helping them learn early on how to care for and protect their skin. “An ounce of sunscreen is truly worth a pound of cure, and skin cancer prevention starts in childhood. I am passionate about educating people of all ages on how to love living in their skin throughout its ever changing stages.”
