Last week, one of EAST COBBER’s advertisers, Ivy Lane, hosted a charity fashion show that benefited two local charities. There was an auction and raffle prizes form local vendors. The models were locals who showed off Ivy Lane’s summer merchandise. Tickets were $30 each, which included a gift bag of freebies, a fully catered meal and live music.
One hundred percent of the proceeds for the fashion show go toward The Lutzie 43 Foundation and The Helping Hand Foundation. The Helping Hand Foundation helps local families after devastating life events, such as a lost job, home disaster, major illness or crisis. The foundation provides financial support, resource access, and brings in local businesses and volunteers to assist people in need of emergency assistance, depending on that family’s individual needs.
The Lutzie 43 Foundation was founded in honor of the late Cobb County resident and former Auburn football player Philip Lutzenkirchen. After he was killed in a tragic car accident in 2013, family and friends began the foundation to sustain his memory and characteristics. The foundation works to develop character in young people, focusing on leadership, charity, compassion, honesty and faith. They are working on developing a curriculum for coaches and mentors to use.
