The next Cobb Citizens Public Safety Academy will begin in September. This program, sponsored by the Cobb Department of Public Safety, provides an opportunity for county residents to gain knowledge about how fire, police, 911 and other public safety departments are organized and the important role each plays to ensure the safety of all residents. The fall program will begin Tuesday,Sept. 4, and be held every Tuesday for 13 weeks, with a graduation ceremony during the final session. In order to apply for the program, which is free, residents must be at least 21 years old and either be a resident of Cobb County or work for Cobb County government. There are still some open slots, but seating is limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis.
