Every Thursday, Creator’s Kids Playgroup meets from 9:30-11am at St. Peter & St. Paul Episcopal Church, 1795 Johnson Ferry Road. Creator’s Kids is open to all children ages 18mos to 4 years and their caregivers. This free playgroup incorporates music, art, dancing, singing, play and fellowship in a child-friendly, age-appropriate setting. Bring a friend, make a friend!

Every Saturday and Sunday, Marietta Square Farmers Market featuring products that are grown and produced in Georgia, including produce, plants, honey, breads, and cheese. Saturday: 10am-1pm. Every Tuesday and Saturday, Feeding Time at the Chattahoochee Nature Center. Join a naturalist for an in-depth look at one of their resident animals as they are being fed. 4pm. Trail Hikes, Every Saturday and Sunday. A docent guides you on a journey through the Chattahoochee Nature Center trails using biofacts and activities to spark you “natural” curiosity. 1pm. September 7

Dream Lover. The historic Polk Street Players presents the hilarious fantasy farce “Dream Lover” by Jack Sharkey, directed by Pete Borden. Performances Fri/Sat Sept. 7, 8 at 8pm,  Sun. Sept. 2 at 2:30pm and Thurs. First Friday Art Walk, a free, self-guided tour of historic Marietta Square’s eclectic art scene.  Art galleries, museums, cultural venues, restaurants and boutiques hosting artists within their businesses will display an Art Walk banner in their window.  Maps available at each participating location and at the Marietta Welcome Center.  5-9pm, rain or shine.  Historic Marietta Square.  More info:  www.artwalkmarietta.com.

September 8

Paws and Planes Festival.  Marietta History Center-Aviation Wing.  Entertainment, children’s activities, vendors and artists, food, and pet adoptions, amid commercial and military aircraft.  Helicopter rides for additional fee.  All proceeds benefit Homeless Pets.  September 8, 11a.m.-4p.m. Adults $10, children 12 and under free.  550 Perin Road, Marietta. homelesspets.com.

B at the Movies:  Dr. Suess’ The Lorax.  Free family outdoor movie.  Bring lawn chairs and blankets, relax, and enjoy an evening of family friendly entertainment.  Movies are presented on a giant inflatable movie screen under the stars.  Movies begin at dusk but come early for pre-movie festivities and giveaways.  East Cobb Park, 3322 Roswell Road, Marietta.

Cobb Young Professionals Social presented by the Cobb Chamber of Commerce for young professionals in their 20’s and 30’s to network with other young professionals.
