Stravinsky’s soaring music, combined with the classical tale of a magical firebird, makes The Georgia Ballet’s latest production a must for ballet lovers of all ages! In this fanciful Russian fairy tale woven into a ballet by the gifted storyteller Janusz Mazon, a mysterious firebird helps a young girl battle an evil sorcerer in order to teach her valuable lesson in a strange new land. Also on the program is New York City Ballet founder George Balanchine’s first American ballet, Serenade; a beautiful manifestation of Tchaikovsky’s lush and lyrical Serenade for Strings in C Major.
