Created by Matt Dranove, a Walton grad (Class of 1998), the service technology startup acts as a two-sided marketplace and is free for consumers. The metro-Atlanta service market is highly fragmented, extremely competitive, and mostly transacted the same as it was 20 years ago…offline. HouseDox takes the stress out of purchasing home services by offering a one-stop site to compare prices and read reviews and profiles of pre-screened service providers. Unlike many of the existing lead generators where multiple providers – often independent contractors – bid on a service request, HouseDox partners with metro Atlanta’s most reputable firms that employ licensed and certified technicians.
Finding a reliable and trustworthy service provider is too frequently a stressful and time-consuming task. Despite the omnipresence of Google and social media, referrals from friends and telephone tag with potential vendors remains the status quo. “With HouseDox, we aim to add value to consumers by simplifying and shortening the process of procuring home services by allowing homeowners to review prices from Atlanta’s best providers and schedule an appointment on one platform,” says HouseDox founder Matt Dranove.
HouseDox currently partners with more than 25 top-rated companies providing a wide variety of services including plumbing, pest control, carpet cleaning, gutter cleaning, and handyman services…and everything in between. The service began with a focus on homeowners, but has expanded its offerings to homebuyers with the addition of home inspections and moving services. “As our portfolio of service providers grows larger, consumers will reap the benefits in terms of more choice and lower prices,” says Dranove.
Service providers also find tremendous value with the new platform. HouseDox leads convert to revenue at a higher rate than other lead generators.
