OCTOBER  22

Aliens vs. Cheerleaders presented by Pope High School Drama. Written by Qui Nguyen, directed by Day Strickland. After aliens abduct and scan two unsuspecting teenagers’ brains to find their leader, they are led to Principal Forsman of Saint Valley High School. Little do the power-hungry aliens suspect that the school’s cheerleading squad is full of brains, brawn, and butt-kicking skills. But when the cheerleaders are overpowered, it’s up to hipster outsider Molly and her nerdy sidekick Lewis to step in and save the planet. Performances October 20: 7pm; October 22: 3pm and 7pm. A Chorus Line presented by Atlanta Lyric Theater. A musical for everyone who’s ever had a dream and put
it all on the line. Winner of nine Tony Awards, including “Best Musical” and the Pulitzer Prize for drama, this singular sensation is the longest-running American Broadway musicals ever. A Celebration of Russian Music, Song and Dance presented by Atlanta Balalaika Society at their 35th Anniversary Concert. Come experience a diverse and unique music experience! 7:30pm. Renewing Hope Conference. A conference for middle/high school aged girls addressing eating disorders, self-harm, depression, and more. Merging back into life after inpatient care, internet safety, making healthy friend choices, making peace with food, and as well as many other topics. Annual Boxerstock Music Festival. Features live music from both national and local acts representing a variety of musical genres and styles. Family and dog-friendly event. Georgia Youth Symphony Orchestra (GYSO) Season Opening Concert. The first GYSO concert of the season sets the stage for a terrific year of great music. 2nd Annual Fore the Cure. A charity golf tournament benefitting It’s The Journey, where all the money raised in Georgia stays in Georgia. Rain or shine. Registration: 8am. 6th Annual October Haunt After Hours at Six Flags Over Georgia presented by the Cobb Chamber and South Cobb Business Association. Attendees will have the opportunity to ride Superman Ultimate Flight, Sky Screamer, The Ninja and The Great American Scream Machine. Give Our Schools a Hand: Teachers of the Year Celebration Breakfast. Signature Chefs Auction presented by March of Dimes. Signature Chefs Auction will host the area’s finest chefs, caterers and/or local celebrity chefs as they present their signature dishes to guests. Guests will also be able to bid on several exciting silent auction items including fine dining, hotel and resort stays, spa vacations and more. 6:30pm.
