The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) course is a 20-hour program that trains people to be better prepared for response to emergency situations in their communities. When emergencies happen, CERT members can give critical support to first responders, provide immediate assistance to victims, and organize spontaneous volunteers at a disaster site. CERT members can also help with non-emergency projects that help improve the safety of the community. CERT Classes will be held at the Cobb County Emergency Operations Center which is at 140 North Marietta Parkway, Marietta, 30060. The schedule for the course will be:

> Saturdays, April 16, 23 and 30: 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

You must attend all sessions listed in order to complete the program. Participants must be at least 16 years old and either live, work, or worship in Cobb County. All applicants must complete the application packet which includes:

Attached to this email is the application packet to attend the Cobb County CERT initial training. You will need to provide the following:

  • Cobb CERT procedures
  • Cobb CERT Criminal History
  • Cobb CERT Background Questionnaire
  • Copy of your driver’s license.
