“5-K- 9” Run. The Northeast Cobb Business Association will host its annual “5-K- 9” run with proceeds supporting the Cobb Sheriff’s Department K-9 Unit. 8:00 a.m. Registration is $25 and can be done online. Trail Work Day. Join the Kennesaw Mountain Trail Club, a group of volunteers invite participants to join them for a Trail Work Day to help maintain the 20 plus miles of trails in the Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park. 8:30am-1pm. 13th Annual Back to the Chattahoochee River Race & Festival presented by Chattahoochee River Keeper in partnership with the National Park Service, Fulton County, and the city of Roswell. Enjoy live music, face painting, balloon artists and other family-friendly activities as well as vendors and environmental exhibits. Paddlers of all ages and skill levels will take to the water at 9am at Garrard Landing Park on Holcomb Bridge Road. The Flag Project. Flags are installed by Marietta Kiwanians who place the flags around Cobb County on six nationally recognized holidays each year-Memorial Day, Flag Day, July 4th, Labor Day, September 11th and Veteran’s Day. The proceeds from this project fund Kiwanis Scholarships and other Club programs, projects, and grants of the Marietta Kiwanis Foundation.
