Looney ‘Toona Trailfest 2018. A fun-filled day of activities for all ages and abilities. There will be a 5K Relay Run, bike demos, clinics and games, Yoga on the Trail, Biathalon Run & Bike, Mini Downhill Enduro and Jump Jamboree.

National Learn to Row Day. Atlanta Junior Rowing Association will hold an open house event with boathouse tours, rowing demonstrations on land machines, and short sessions in racing hulls. All ages welcome.

Take A Garden Tour! Begin your day with a tour of the historic gardens at Barrington Hall. The tour is led by staff horticulturist Janet Rigsby and begins at the main house back porch. Reservations are not necessary.

Tuesday, June 5
The Mobile Dairy Classroom. The Mobile Dairy Classroom is a dynamic and fun educational program operated by the Agricultural Commodity Commission for Milk. The Mobile Dairy Classroom features a fully operational milking parlor containing a live cow used for milking and feeding demonstrations. The goal of the program is to provide children and adults with a better understanding of where milk comes from, how it is processed, the healthy benefits of consuming dairy products and dairy farmers’ management of natural resources.
Cost: Free

Thursday, June 7
Fernbank Science Center. Come experience science at this hands-on museum. The museum houses several different exhibits-including Apollo 6 capsule and live animals, a planetarium and an observatory. The observatory is open Thursday and Friday evenings from dark until 10:30pm (weather permitting). An astronomer is available to position the telescope and answer questions. Call ahead to ensure the observatory will be open the night you plan to attend.
Cost: Free; Planetarium addition cost of $5/students (3-18); $7/adults.
Museum Hours: Monday-Wednesday: 12-5pm; Thursday & Friday: 12-9pm; Saturday: 10am-5pm

Friday, June 8
The Abbey Church at the Monastery of the Holy Spirit. You don’t have to be Catholic to visit the Monastery of the Holy Spirit in Conyers, Georgia. In fact, the resident monks welcome everyone, regardless of religion. The Monastery is located about 40 minutes east of Atlanta. The Monastery is a great destination for a family bike ride.
The Monastic Life Heritage Center opened in 2011 and is the center of the visitor experience. A museum offers a history of the Trappist monks, as well as history of the Monastery of the Holy Spirit itself. The main museum is located in the barn that was the first living quarters for the monks when they arrived in Conyers from Kentucky.
Cost: Free (Suggested donation of $5 for the museum)
