In honor of the birthday of the father of gonzo journalism, join us for a three-movie film festival with works by and about Dr. Hunter S. Thompson. Movies will be shown on the big screen in our black box theater. Feel free to bring your own food and drink to enjoy during the show!
3 PM – The Rum Diary (2011, 119 min)
American journalist Paul Kemp takes on a freelance job in Puerto Rico for a local newspaper during the 1960s and struggles to find a balance between island culture and the expatriates who live there.
5 PM – Where the Buffalo Roam (1980, 96 min)
Semi-biographical film based on the experiences of gonzo journalist Hunter S. Thompson.
7 PM – Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (1998, 120 min)
An oddball journalist and his psychopathic lawyer travel to Las Vegas for a series of psychedelic escapades.
