EVERY THURSDAY

Ukulele Club at JMEC. Come and learn new songs and enjoy playing your Ukulele in a group setting. Players will learn chords and strumming techniques while learning new songs. Roswell Summer Puppet Series.  Nationally-renowned puppeteers bring all varieties of puppets and marionettes to the stage for a collection of whimsical and captivating performances.  Monday-Saturday:  10am.  Additional shows Wednesday and Friday:  1pm.  No performance on July 4th. Understanding Birth. Expectant mothers and their partners take a two-day journey through childbirth including labor and delivery, breathing and relaxation, hospital procedures and Cesarean birth. Friday: 6-9pm, Saturday: 10am-5pm. $55. JUNE 16-18

Annual Juneteenth Celebration presented by Cobb NAACP and City of Marietta. This is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the end of slavery in the United States. June 16- Enjoy Jazz on the lawn of Glover Park. Bring your blanket or folding chairs.  6-11pm.   June 17-Juneteenth Celebration on the Square. A day of family activities, ethnic foods, entertainment, vendors, music, history, and more.  Free.  10am-7pm. June 18- Gospelfest. 3-7pm. Heartsaver First Aid & CPR Course. This course offers skills for community members in CPR, automated external defibrillator (AED) and relief for choking. This combination CPR with basic first aid training meets Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA) requirements. A two-year certification is given upon completion. 9am-3pm. Heartsaver portion $35. Keeping Our Children on Course a fundraiser for Family Promise of Cobb County. Family Promise helps homeless families and their children in Cobb County find and keep housing. JUNE 21-22

Defensive Driving/Driver Improvement Class presented by Safe America.  If you are already driving but want to lower the cost of your car insurance or if you’ve gotten a traffic ticket and need to take a defensive driving class, this class is for you.  6-hour class taught by certified instructors. 6-9pm. AARP Smart Driver Class June 22 | 9am—4pm $15.00 AARP members; $20.00 Non-members (cash or check only) The AARP Smart Driver course is a refresher course specifically designed for drivers age 50 and older. Drivers may benefit from a discount on their auto insurance upon completing the course. Refresh your driving skills and your knowledge of the rules — and hazards — of the road.
