First Baptist of Roswell has announced that Dr. R. Kevin Head, an East Cobb resident,  has accepted the position of senior pastor. Head’s appointment will be effective March 1, 2016. Head  began his career with First Baptist Roswell as a part-time minister to young families in 2012. In November 2014, he was selected to serve as interim pastor after the retirement of Dr. Ronald H. Bradley.

Head has a doctoral degree in philosophy, majoring in preaching with a minor in pastoral care and New Testament from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky.

He and his wife, Amy, co-own  New Perspectives for Life, a faith-based counseling center for individuals, couples, and families.

The couple have two children, Jenna, a freshman at Mercer University in Macon, and Josh, a junior at Pope High School in East Cobb.

Adding to his degrees in theology, Head has strong managerial and administrative skills. Since 2007, he has been serving as assistant vice president of LL Global/Loma in Atlanta.
