Take a Bike Ride. Situated along nearly 13 miles of abandoned railroad tracks in south Cobb County, the multi-use Silver Comet Trail is dotted with pocket parks, gorgeous scenery and four trailheads with ample parking.

Barnes & Noble Miss Kim’s Story Time. Enjoy story time at Barnes & Noble bookstore! Tuesday stories are Miss Kim’s Choice, so head to Barnes & Noble to hear her pick. It should also be noted that Barnes & Noble sponsors a Summer Reading Program for Grades 1 to 6; if a child reads 8 books, then they can choose a free book from a list of 20+ best-selling children’s offerings.

Center Hill Park. As temperatures rise to the Georgia standard heat, take a trip with your kids to Center Hill Park’s splashpad! All jets featured in the splashpad come from the ground or benches. If you’re not in the mood to get wet, have no fear! There’s another of the playground with a play structure. This play structure has slides, a wobbly bridge, monkey bars, a metal zip line, tic tac toe walls, and a half rainbow climber.

Rain Garden Work Day. Learn how rain gardens protect local waterways by decreasing the volume of runoff entering surface waters during rain events. Rain gardens provide a unique landscape feature by adding color and interest to the landscape. Meet most Thursdays to explore and maintain the rain garden at the Cobb County Water Quality Lab.

Take a Hike! Come visit Vickery Creek Trail in Roswell. Get out your comfy walking shoes and gather your family for a fun and fitness-filled walk. The Vickery Creek trail, a moderate 3-mile loop trail, hikes to two historic mills, a covered bridge, and an impressive historic dam along the Big Creek canyon in nearby Roswell.
