Pictured on our front cover this month is Kristy Flowers, standing in front of Wheeler High School. As president of the Eastern Cobb County Council (ECCC) of PTAs, Kristy leads 35 PTAs to improve the lives of East Cobb children.

As Kristy explains, “PTA presidents from East Cobb schools come together in our council to carry out the mission of National PTA: the advocacy of all children and for a quality education.”

She believes it her role to energize the community for PTA causes. For Kristy, the best part about being president has been “the opportunity to help the kids and meeting so many interesting people.”

A graduate of Wheeler High School (Class of ’86), Kristy lives in the Fox Hills subdivison with her husband, Jim, and their two children: Vann, a sixth-grader at East Cobb Middle School; and Luke, a third grader at Sope Creek Elementary School.
