This month’s front cover features East Cobber Sharon Mason who, after a nationwide search, was selected to be the President and CEO of the Cobb County Chamber of Commerce.

As President and CEO, Sharon oversees a 35-member staff, 1,100+ volunteers and 2,500+ companies to implement The Chamber’s mission and strategic priorities. As Sharon explains, “I will direct the Chamber’s efforts to create jobs, strengthen the economy and quality of life for businesses and the community while building Cobb County’s reputation regionally, nationally and beyond.” Sharon has 15 years of chamber experience, including the past decade at the Cobb Chamber.

Sharon Mason is an Atlanta native and an active member of the Cobb County community including serving on the MUST Ministries Board of Directors, Marietta Rotary Foundation Director in 2015-2016, and Past President of Friends for the East Cobb Park, to name a few. She also is active in the region including currently serving on the executive committee for the Regional Business Coalition, the Atlanta Regional Commission’s strategic planning steering committee and is presently in Leadership Atlanta. She is a graduate of Leadership Cobb, Honorary Commanders, Regional Leadership Institute, Chamber Institute for Organizational Management and is active in these alumni associations.

Sharon lives in East Cobb County with her husband, Mike, and daughter, Addilyn, who attends Timber Ridge Elementary School. Says Sharon, “My husband, daughter and I enjoy taking fun trips together as well as hiking on the trails together on Sope Creek, the Roswell Mill and the trail near the Chattahoochee Nature Center. We also love spending time with our neighbors and friends in surrounding neighborhoods.”
