Pictured on the front cover this month is Lorna Bulpin, EAST COBBER’s Mother of the Year. She is pictured with her daughters: Nancy, 15; and Tilly Bishop, 17. They both attend Pope High School.

“I know so many fantastic moms with wonderful children that could have won. . .I was delighted to be named as EAST COBBER’s Mother of the Year,” says Lorna. The winning essay, written by her daughter, “reflects more on Tilly being a wonderful daughter then on me,” observes Lorna.

Originally from the United Kingdom, Lorna and her family moved to East Cobb five years ago as a result of her husband’s job transfer. She admits it was a “big adjustment dealing with a new school system and a new bureaucracy. . .” Now that she has settled into East Cobb, Lorna enjoys going to a Braves game, her neighborhood book club and watching movies—especially disaster movies.

Lorna’s favorite part of being a mom is “laughing with and listening to” her daughters.

See page 6 for the winning essay and page 7 for a list of gifts for the Mother of the Year donated by local merchants.
