With the addition of a second East Cobb campus in 2014, Mt. Bethel Christian Academy became the first and only faith-based, independent school in East Cobb serving all grade levels, JK-12th. The new campus, now in its third year of operation, sits on the beautiful 32-acre site of the former Marcus Jewish Community Center near the intersection of Post Oak Tritt Road and Holly Springs Road. For the first time in the school’s nearly twenty year history, all students, regardless of grade level, can have access to all that Mt. Bethel provides and at the top of that list is – opportunity.

Academic Opportunity – College-preparatory by design, Mt. Bethel’s curriculum is designed to challenge students at every grade level culminating with honors and AP courses offered in all core subjects. A dual track STEM program offers students the opportunity to gain concentrated instruction in the biomedical or engineering fields. At every grade level, students are guided through rigorous curriculum by expert teachers who are known not only for their expertise and experience, but also more importantly for their desire to form deep, impactful relationships with students.

Extracurricular Opportunity – Opportunities to explore learning outside the core curriculum are also plentiful and serve to enrich the Mt. Bethel Christian Academy experience. Students interested in learning to play a musical instrument may choose to participate in band. Those interested in voice or drama can choose to participate in chorus. Both music programs offer several performance opportunities throughout the year. Young artists are guided by an expert team of visual art teachers who nurture and cultivate artistic expression, culminating in AP Studio Art for the most advanced students.

Athletic Opportunity – The connection between physical activity and learning is clear and the Mt. Bethel Christian experience is designed to challenge a student’s body as well as their mind. Students attend physical education classes several times per week and recess is provided each day for lower school students. Mt. Bethel students’ physical education opportunities include activities not found in any other East Cobb school including rock wall climbing, pitball, and fishing in one of two private, stocked lakes. Beginning in middle school, students can choose to participate in the school’s championship athletic program featuring 29 teams across eleven different sports.

Important as academic, athletic, and artistic opportunities are, Mt. Bethel Christian’s most distinctive opportunity is the opportunity to be known. There is an unmistakable intimacy that defines the Mt. Bethel experience. Small class sizes, low student-to-teacher ratios and a Christ-centered culture all contribute to the school’s ability to truly know each child. A student’s strengths, challenges, successes and occasional setbacks play out in the context of a nurturing classroom and a loving teacher who has the time and desire to know him well. Mt. Bethel’s classes are tailor-made for relationships, and there is no better environment to prepare a child to pursue a lifetime of learning built on a foundation of faith. It is unmatched opportunity that allows Mt. Bethel to make good on the promise made in its mission – to provide a Christ-centered education, which encourages and develops academic excellence, spiritual growth, and a lifelong desire for learning.
