East Cobb native and Pope High School graduate Hayden Rowe will star as the lead in the fall musical at Kennesaw State University (KSU) this month. Rowe was the lead in a musical at Pope during his senior year, graduating in 2013.

The musical, “Man of No Importance” ran in 2002 at Lincoln Center in New York. The dates of the show at KSU’s Stillwell Theater are Oct. 12-23.

With a score by the award-winning team behind “Ragtime,” this is a story about an Irish bus driver who must confront forces of bigotry and shame in the 1960s, and who seeks to survive these challenges through the redemptive power of theatre and friendship. “A Man Of No Importance” combines the depth and drama of a play with the lyricism and comedy of a musical. Tickets are $5-20 and are available at www.arts.kennesaw.edu/theatre/performances/performances.php.
