It’s officially the start of a New Year, and for most of us, it means the start of a New Year’s resolution list! This time of year sees many of us setting worthy goals for ourselves: eat less, exercise more, get organized… self-improvement is always important and our Health & Wellness section (pages 32-39) offers local resources and experts to help you achieve some of those New Year resolutions.

This issue also reminds us to also look beyond ourselves when making those goals for 2019. How ‘bout resolving to get more involved in 2019? The annual “Do Good Guide” (pages 14-17) offers a list of local non-profits that could use your help. Volunteering benefits those who give as well as those who receive. I hope you will consider helping out the groups listed in our “Do Good Guide” and/or go beyond that list and see if your local theater, youth group, library, school, or church could use your help. Consider joining a club. See page 50 for club meeting times and contact information.

One of the best parts about ringing in the New Year is the chance to reflect on our own lives over the past year and make goals to help us do things a little better. One of my many New Year’s resolutions is to serve my EAST COBBER readers better. There is so much information about East Cobb people, events and issues, I can’t possibly fit it all in this magazine. Social media allows the EAST COBBER more ways to share that info. In addition to print advertising, EAST COBBER is evolving into a media company that offers a variety of platforms—from blogs, e-newsletters, a Facebook page, and more special events–that promote the people, causes and businesses in this great community! You can keep up with what is going on by:

Of course, let me know if I overlooked another way to spread the news, by emailing me at cynthia@eastcobber.com.

Here’s to a happy and prosperous 2019! Happy New Year!
