Cobb County Senior Services offers the “Share the Care” program which provides vouchers to caregivers who are caring for Alzheimer’s or dementia-related disorder clients. Vouchers can be used for respite, personal care, etc. The caregiver must be a Cobb County resident and live in the same home as the Alzheimer’s or dementia client. Fee for services based on income. The goal of Cobb County’s Share the Care program is to provide support and relief to family caregivers who are caring for a loved one diagnosed with Alzheimer’s or related dementia or chronic diseases which severely impair their quality of life, such as failure to thrive, stroke, multiple sclerosis, COPD, end stage renal disease and cancer. Here is a quick overview of the Share the Care program:

RESPITE

  • The family caregiver can receive assistance in the home with personal care or companion services.

ELIGIBILITY

  • Cobb County Resident
  • Family caregiver must be 18 years and older and the care-receiver must be 60 years and older.
  • Family caregiver and care-receiver must live in the same household.
  • Must not be eligible for any other respite programs such as CCSP, SOURCE, etc.
