Cobb County 911.  Ever wonder what happens when you call 911?  Using fun activities, parents and children will learn the rules of how and when to 911, what information they need to give the 911 operator, and explain who will respond to their emergency. Georgia Governor’s Mansion. Public tours are conducted throughout the year. The tour is a hybrid of a guided and self-guided tour. There are docents stationed in each room to teach you about the collection, but you may go from room to room at your own pace.  Many of the docents have volunteered at the Mansion under several Governors and are as much a part of the tour as the collection itself.

Time: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays between 10am and 11:30am. It is recommended that you arrive before 11 to allow enough time to complete the tour before the Mansion closes at 11:30am

David J. Sencer CDC Museum. Ever wonder how Centers for Disease Control (CDC) scientists merge old-fashioned detective work with high-tech science to crack the cases of mystery diseases? Get the story here! This unique museum features award-winning permanent and changing exhibitions that focus on a variety of public health topics, as well as the history of CDC.

The current exhibit is titled, The Refugee Journey to Wellbeing.  An immersive museum experience, The Refugee Journey to Wellbeing provides insight into refugee health and the resettlement process. The exhibit introduces visitors to the programs and processes supporting refugee health along the journey from displacement to resettlement in the United States. Its installation at the David J. Sencer CDC Museum is the first public showing of this hands-on exhibit, created in 2016 by CDC’s Division of Global Migration and Quarantine, and the Emergency Response and Recovery Branch, Division of Global Health Protection, in partnership with the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene.

Derby Days. This is a local Georgia Hunter Jumper rated show. Riders come from all over the Southeast to participate and compete in Hunter and Jumper classes and to be judged by nationally-ranked judges from throughout the United States.
