Here is the winning essay written by 14-year-old Kylie Cooper, nominating her mom, Wendy Cooper.

“A daughter’s love for her mother is always extraordinary. However, in this situation my love for my mom is unconditional. No one could beat out the love I have for my amazing, brave mother. My mom, Wendy Cooper, not only has four kids, but she has also not had another adult to help around the house for about five years.

Most moms would say it’s easy, but my little sister was diagnosed with a very rare genetic disorder. She requires 24-hour care and my mom also has to take care of three other kids, her mom, and work just to pay the rent. Also, my grandpa, my mom’s dad, passed away just this month and she has had to take care of her mother ever since.

The next and last thing I am going to say about my mom is that she is the bravest person I have ever met and I truly mean that. God has given her a full plate and she has handled it so well. My mom absolutely deserves to be the mom of the year. Heck, she should be the mom of the century!”
