Jonathan Paul, a senior at Wheeler High School, was awarded a scholarship to attend Berklee College of Music in their undergraduate program.

Jonathan participated in Berklee’s Performance Program this past summer in Valencia, Spain where he auditioned with the admissions committee, visiting from Boston. He is one of only three musicians who were awarded a scholarship out of the 125 participants from 35 countries.

He is an Alto Saxophone player with Wheeler’s Wind Ensemble, plays Alto and Tenor Saxophone with the Wheeler Jazz Ensemble, President of the Wheeler Tri-M Music Honor Society, has been a member of the All-State Concert Band for five years, All-State Jazz Band Alto Sax one year and Lead Tenor Sax one year, Alto Sax member of the Georgia Youth Symphony Orchestra (GYSO) Jazz Ensemble for five years, Alto Sax player for the Rialto Youth Jazz Orchestra for two years, participated in Governor’s Honors Program for saxophone, and performed in the Atlanta Jazz Festival as a lead Tenor Sax with the World Class Jazz Ensemble.

Jonathan is the son of Emelda Paul & Paul Royappa and is a student in Center for Advanced Studies at Wheeler High School.
