A trip to the doctor is typically followed by a stop at a pharmacy. So when choosing a pharmacy, why not pick one that doctors prefer. Atlanta-based Concord Pharmacy is opening its 11th location in early October at the new Northside East Cobb Medical Center. Concord’s motto, “Fill it first at Concord” speaks to the convenience of its stores located inside medical centers. But more importantly, it speaks to why Concord is there: the centers’ practicing doctors support and endorse Concord’s proven and trusted record.
Three years ago, East Cobbers watched as the stores at Olde Towne Shopping Center closed their doors. Now sits the Northside/East Cobb Medical building, a 103,000 square foot medical center that offers health care services, including imaging, primary care, urgent care and other specialties. As plans for this development progressed, Concord Pharmacy Owner Mac McCord says the center’s building manager contacted him about opening a pharmacy to augment the services offered to the community.
“Since 1979, we have always worked closely with physicians and essentially operate as an arm of their practices,” says McCord. “Our business model of placing stores in medical centers, coupled with our established reputation with doctors, made us the obvious choice for the new center.” East Cobb will be the newest location, with three more planned throughout the metro area in the near future.
McCord relates that as a result of the close working relationships with physicians, Concord inventories medicines that the doctors in the respective centers prescribe both regularly and rarely. Additionally, the pharmacy is well known for its pharmaceutical compounding, which are medicines prepared from formulas that doctors prescribe and pharmacists prepare that fit the unique needs of an individual patient. Concord’s pharmacists also work closely with patients through counseling and follow-up when applicable.
Concord Pharmacy is ready to join the East Cobb community, with Steve Anderson as Pharmacist in Charge (PIC). Most all insurance plans are accepted, and various delivery options are available.
